OUTREACH
EVENT

BEYOND Logo
THE NORM
OUR OUTREACH INITIATIVE BROUGHT THE WORLD OF COMPUTING TO STUDENTS OF CLASSES 7 TO 9, USING THE THEME "FLOWCHARTS AND DIGITAL LOGIC." THROUGH INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATIONS, SIMPLIFIED EXPLANATIONS OF BINARY THINKING, AND REAL-LIFE EXAMPLES OF LOGIC GATES, STUDENTS DISCOVERED HOW COMPUTERS "THINK" AND SOLVE PROBLEMS. THE SESSION NOT ONLY INTRODUCED THEM TO STRUCTURED PROBLEM-SOLVING THROUGH FLOWCHARTS BUT ALSO CONNECTED EVERYDAY TECHNOLOGY TO THE FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL DESIGN, SPARKING CURIOSITY AND ENCOURAGING YOUNG LEARNERS TO EXPLORE THE WORLD OF COMPUTING.

YOUNG MINDS
ALIGNED WITH UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 4: QUALITY EDUCATION. THIS WORKSHOP FOCUSED ON REDUCING THE DIGITAL LEARNING GAP IN RURAL COMMUNITIES. PARTICIPANTS EXPLORED MODERN WEB TECHNOLOGIES AND LEARNED HOW SIMPLE DIGITAL TOOLS CAN STRENGTHEN CLASSROOMS WITH LIMITED RESOURCES. BY COMBINING TECHNICAL LEARNING WITH REAL SOCIAL IMPACT, THE SESSION EMPHASIZED ACM-VIT'S COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE, TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN GROWTH, EMPOWERING PARTICIPANTS TO SUPPORT BETTER EDUCATIONAL ACCESS IN RURAL AREAS.

COMPUTERS HAVE
FEELINGS TOO

A DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER SESSION WHERE DR. ROBINSON TALKED ABOUT HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI) AND ITS INTERSECTION WITH AFFECTIVE COMPUTING.

THE SESSION EXPLORED HOW EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES ARE BEING DESIGNED TO RECOGNIZE, INTERPRET AND SIMULATE HUMAN EMOTIONS. THE EVENT PROVIDED VALUABLE INSIGHTS INTO THE EVOLVING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMANS AND MACHINES, EMPHASIZING THE ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGY AND DESIGN IN SHAPING INTELLIGENT, EMOTION-AWARE SYSTEMS.

SEARCH BASED
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

ACM-VIT HOSTED AN INSIGHTFUL SESSION WITH DR. FEDERICA SARRO, A DISTINGUISHED RESEARCHER IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING. THE TALK EXPLORED KEY AREAS SUCH AS SOFTWARE OPTIMIZATION, PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS, AND EMPIRICAL SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, WITH A FOCUSED DISCUSSION ON SEARCH-BASED SOFTWARE ENGINEERING FOR MODERN SOFTWARE SYSTEMS.

DR. SARRO SHARED HOW INTELLIGENT OPTIMIZATION AND DATA-DRIVEN TECHNIQUES ARE TRANSFORMING THE WAY COMPLEX SOFTWARE CHALLENGES ARE ADDRESSED IN PRACTICE. THE SESSION PROVIDED ATTENDEES WITH VALUABLE PERSPECTIVES ON IMPROVING SOFTWARE QUALITY, EFFICIENCY, AND DECISION-MAKING, AND CONCLUDED WITH AN ENGAGING INTERACTION THAT ENCOURAGED DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF EMERGING TRENDS IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING.

At ACM VIT, we conduct structured project cycles throughout the year to foster innovation, hands-on learning, and creative problem-solving. These project cycles reflect the diversity of technologies explored within the chapter and encourage members to push boundaries, experiment boldly, and grow through real-world application. Through these projects, we also aim to create meaningful community impact by building solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute beyond the campus.

ACM-W Logo
ACM-W was created with a simple yet profound mission: to create equal access to opportunities in technology and ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, has the chance to grow in STEM.
We believe talent and potential aren't defined by barriers, but by the right support, mentorship, and exposure.

As a sister chapter of ACM-VIT, we are a part of a community that values contributions across all computing fields. Through our InspiHER podcast series, blogs, and community stalls, we've carved out a space where stories and perspectives are shared and voices in tech are amplified.
We stand for inclusion, empowerment and growth, encouraging women to take initiative, share their ideas, and thrive in computing fields, shoulder to shoulder with their peers.
